Additional Costs
Scope: This notice concerns costs that may arise after the vehicle arrives in Germany and during transport, interim storage or handover within Germany.
What might happen?
During transport, downtime or the final delivery in Germany, additional expenses may arise depending on the situation, e.g.:
-
Fuel / refueling: when the tank level is too low for loading, shunting or handover.
-
Battery/towing costs: Bridging, charging, or, if necessary, replacing a discharged battery, or if the vehicle is otherwise immobile.
-
Flat tire: e.g., nail in tire, slow puncture; if necessary, repair, replacement tire, or mobile breakdown service.
-
Small parts & operating materials: oil/coolant/windshield washer refills, fuses, bulbs, valves, etc., as required for road safety.
-
Minor domestic transport/shunting damage (e.g. minor scratches/dents) that can typically occur during logistical handling.
Who bears the costs?
These additional costs are to be borne by the buyer .
BCJ and BCG are not liable for this unless there is a statutory liability case (e.g. intent or gross negligence).
Differentiation from warranty/insurance
-
Sea transport/port: Damage resulting from sea transport or port handling will be treated according to the applicable freight/insurance conditions.
-
Used vehicle condition: Usual signs of age/use and typical effects of prolonged inactivity (e.g. weak battery) are not covered by the warranty .
-
Statutory rights: Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected, and your warranty provisions can be found under Warranty & Guarantee.
